Friday Updates- November 10, 2017

Good Morning, TCDS Families!

Happy Friday! All is well here at Trinity Church Day School! It is so hard to believe that in just two short weeks we will be celebrating Thanksgiving 2017! Our Angels have been learning all about the reason for this holiday. Ms. Nicole got out a globe today and her class talked about how the pilgrims traveled all the way across the ocean to live in America. Ms. Jamie’s class made a Thankful Tree on their classroom door to share what they are most thankful for. I know that I am extremely grateful for our sweet Angels, their fantastic families, and my dedicated staff members.

I am also thankful for all of our generous TCDS families who have donated canned goods to Paul’s Place! We have collected 42 food items so far! We will be collecting cans and non-perishable food items until December, so please continue to bring them in and place them in the box in the lobby.

THANK YOU to the Hauser family and the Parents’ Club for hosting yet another fabulous fundraiser for our school! We had about 45 adults attend our Glarus Pairing event this Wednesday evening, and a good time was had by all!

A pre-order form for holiday greens has come home this week. The purchase of these greens benefits Trinity Church and the products have always been of high quality in the past. There are two additions to the order form that was sent home:

28’’ Fraser Fir Wreath, undecorated                                                                        $25.00

28’’ Mixed Fraser Fir Wreath, decorated with greens & pine cones                  $30.00

If you would like to pre-order greens, please return the form and payment to the school office by November 19th. Limited stock will also be available for sale at the Candy Cane Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 2nd.

We have just 3 spots left for the Fall Art Day this Tuesday, November 14 from 12-3. If your child would like to participate, there are extra forms on the table outside of the office. Remember, MWF students can attend as well!

Our first holiday chapel service will take place on Wednesday, November 22. Please see the schedule below:

9:30 (drop off by 9:15)

Ms. Nicole’s Class

Ms. Marcie’s Class

10:30 (drop off by 10:15)

Ms. Jamie’s Class

Ms. Laurie’s Class

Ms. Debbie’s Class

Please drop your child off in their classroom at the scheduled time with a canned food item to carry into church. Then, you will head up to the church to grab a seat; for those families who are new to our school, please know that these services become crowded so it works out best to be here right on time. Your child will sit with their class during the service and will be dismissed from their teacher after they exit the church. There will not be regular classes on this day, only the scheduled chapel times seen on the schedule. Morning and afternoon Extended Day services are also cancelled on holiday chapel days. Our Two’s Explorers will not have school on this day, but they are welcome to attend either chapel service with their families. Please contact your teacher or the office if you have any questions about this special day!

If you caught our mistake in the November Tiny Tales, then you get a gold star! Movie Night for this month will be Friday, November 17, which is different from the date in the newsletter. We are showing “Captain Underpants” at 6:30, so we hope to see you there!

It’s supposed to get very cold this weekend, so I hope you are able to stay warm and cuddly with your families. Have a wonderful Saturday and Sunday and I look forward to seeing you all again next week!

Take Care,
