My Dear TCDS Families:
What a wonderful and rewarding week it has been here at TCDS! We were able to open our doors to so many Grandparents and Grandfriends this Wednesday and Thursday and it was very enjoyable. To see the pure joy on the children’s faces as their visitors came into the room and to witness our children befriending so many new people in the comfort of their own classrooms has my heart very full. Thank you to the teachers for providing our students and visitors with a wonderful time this week. And thank you to our visitors for coming, enjoying their time in our school, and giving us such positive feedback. Our school is what it is because of the families we serve and we are truly grateful for you!
Our Bull and Oyster Roast is coming soon (March 23!!!), so get your tickets today! $50 gets you admission to the event, a delicious buffet dinner, full open bar, and access to a fabulous silent auction, raffles, games, and so much more! Reserved seating is available for those purchasing tables of 10, so gather your friends and family! We look forward to a fabulous time in support of our Angels!
As is our tradition, each classroom is putting together a basket for the silent auction. Your room parent should have sent communication regarding the theme of the basket and ways to contribute. Baskets are due on March 16, so if you haven’t heard anything yet, please reach out to your room parent(s) or teacher for more information!
Next Wednesday, our fours classes will take a bus for the first time to see Arts on Stage at Goucher College. If you have not done so already, please return the permission slip and payment to your teacher to ensure your child can participate. I know the students are looking forward to a great time!
Attached, you will find this month’s Tiny Tales. All paper copies will be distributed early next week. Please take the time to read our newsletter for more information about all the wonderful happenings here at TCDS!
This wind is just crazy! So far we still have power and minimal tree damage, although the playground is a bit of a mess. If you have a few extra minutes after drop-off Monday morning, please take a stroll around the playground, pick up any sticks you might find, and toss them over the fence. I have done my best, but am only one person with two hands! We want our facility to be safe for the children to go outside and your help in making this happen is so much appreciated. Thank you!
I hope everyone is safe, sound, and cozy at home riding out the storm. I look forward to another fun week at TCDS to come! Today is Dr. Seuss’ birthday and, in honor of a wonderful children’s author and a wise man, I want to leave you with one of my favorite quotes from The Lorax …one of my kids’ favorites and one that inspires me to do my best at home and at work each and every day: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
