Hello TCDS Families,
Happy Friday! This week was a wonderful week of music here at Trinity. Along with our normal circle songs floating through the halls, we have heard many fall and harvest themed songs as well! Our fours Angels sang beautifully during Chapel this week. AND, many students enjoyed an extra fun music class yesterday afternoon with Ms. Sue! All in all, we are really in “harmony” here at TCDS!
If your child missed picture day this week, individual picture retakes are scheduled for this coming Tuesday, November 13, at 9:30 am. Please plan accordingly. Also, if you missed sending in a picture order form, you can send them to the office by Tuesday and we can give them to our photographer then.
Speaking of music, we are quickly approaching our Thanksgiving Chapel on Wednesday, November 21. Please remember that Thanksgiving Chapel is NOT a regular school day; our 3’s and 4’s students attend their chapel service (see schedule below) and our 2’s students do not have school on this day. The children are to be dropped off in their classrooms at the designated time and their caregiver(s) will walk to the church to get a seat for chapel. All students will sit with their classes during the service and will be dismissed immediately following chapel. There is NO morning or afternoon Extended Day on Wednesday, November 21. A copy of this schedule will come home later next week for your convenience, so please keep a lookout for that in your child’s folder.

Our Spring Event, sponsored by the Parents’ Club, is scheduled for Saturday, March 30 from 6-10 pm. We are excited to announce the event will take place at Grimmel Farms in Jarrettsville, MD this year. The first planning meeting for this event will be on Wednesday, November 28 at 7:30 pm in the upstairs Parish Hall. This event cannot run without the help of our fabulous parents, so please plan to attend and bring your fun ideas to the table!
One of our wonderful parents, Liza Luby, is running a Book Club for any parents or staff members who would be interested in attending. This club will meet once a month to discuss a book of choice, and the first meeting is planned for Thursday, November 29 at 7:30 pm. The meetings will take place in the TCDS library. The Book Club will begin by discussing Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. Please feel free to attend and send any questions to Liza at email@example.com.
As the cold weather approaches (it’s HERE), please remember to send your child to school in a coat and a hat and mittens if necessary. Our teachers will take the children outside for as long as they can when weather permits. Also, please remember that parents and caregivers are asked to leave the playground after school around 12:30 in order make way for our Enrichment and Extended Day friends to play safely. Thank you very much for your understanding this this request.
We are collecting canned food for those served at Paul’s Place. There is a collection box in the lobby, and we are keeping track of how much food we collect. Our goal this year is 200 cans, and we have collected 49 so far. Please show your children what it means to truly give this holiday season. Thank you!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Stay warm!!
