Happy, Happy Friday!
I cannot believe Thanksgiving is next week! This year really seems to be flying by like a turkey trying to escape the dinner table!! I am so thankful each and every day that I get to spend my days with your sweet children. Whether I am watching them engage in imaginative play in the classroom, run around the track on the playground, or participate in classroom discussions, I am always so amazed at the wonderful people you all have created. Thank you for your support and for teaching them how to be kind and loving friends!
Next Wednesday is Thanksgiving Chapel, our first special chapel of the year! The children have been working hard with Ms. Sue to learn the special holiday songs they will perform for their families during this service. Please remember that Thanksgiving Chapel is NOT a regular school day; our 3’s and 4’s students attend their chapel service (see schedule below) and our 2’s students do not have school on this day. The children are to be dropped off in their classrooms no earlier than the designated time listed below and their caregiver(s) will walk to the church to get a seat for chapel. Please note that classroom and chapel doors will not be open before 9:15. All students will sit with their classes during the service and will be dismissed immediately following chapel. There is NO morning or afternoon Extended Day on Wednesday, November 27. A copy of this schedule was sent home this week.
9:30 (arrive at 9:15)- Ms. Jamie, Ms. Lauren
10:30 (arrive at 10:15)- Ms. Nicole, Ms. Debbie, Ms. Marcie (both classes)
If you have a student in the 2’s class, please know you are welcome to attend chapel at either time listed above. Your child will sit with you during the service, as the 2’s classes do not attend chapel services throughout the year. But please remember that, should you choose not to attend chapel, your 2’s student will not have school on Wednesday, November 27.
FYI: We will ask parents/caregivers to take children’s coats to chapel with them. It is very difficult for the students to maneuver their outerwear on and off during chapel, and their time outside will be very limited getting to the church.
We are still collecting nonperishable food items for Paul’s Place! Please place your items in the donation box in the lobby. In addition, each child attending chapel next Wednesday will bring a food item to the altar at the beginning of the service. Thank you for your generosity!
Important Reminder: When dropping off and picking up your child, please be very aware of the people and children around you. We have lines of students traveling from extended day every morning at 8:55 and lines going to lunch every day at noon. A few days this week, the lines have been cut off or children have been bumped. For the safety of our students, please move cautiously in the hallways. Thank you.
I hope you all enjoy this weekend and don’t have to spend *too* much time prepping for the holiday! Please remember that TCDS will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday!
