Happy Friday, Everyone!
It has been so lovely getting the students back into the school routine this week, although we know getting back into the swing of things can be a bit harder for some! They have transitioned well and it feels like the beginning of 2020 will be a very positive and fun time!
Next week, TCDS will host a winter Open House on January 15 & 16 between 9:30 and 11:30. If you know of anyone looking for a preschool home, please let them know about our program here. The Open House is flexible, as I will conduct tours as visitors come into the building; however, if you know someone who would like to plan a specific tour time, please have them call the office. If you feel compelled to share about our school, please visit our Facebook and Twitter pages for posts to share. We appreciate all our families do to promote our school!
Conference Day is this coming Friday, January 17. There is NO SCHOOL for students, however Extended Day is open from 9-3. You can sign your child up for just their conference time (at no charge) or you can sign them up for blocks of time. If your child is contracted for Extended Day on Fridays, this day is included in your billing cycle… HOWEVER, you MUST sign up on the separate Conference Day sheet posted next to the Extended Day bulletin board. We will not make any assumptions about your child’s attendance in Extended Day, even if they always stay on Friday, so please be sure to sign them up before Friday.
Registration packets were sent home this week. If you did not receive one, please come to the office ASAP for another one. Registration for current TCDS families will be January 23 at 7:30 am in the upstairs parish hall. Our policy states that parents must be here in person to register their child. If you are having issues with being here on the registration day, please come see us in the office. Registration for community members will be on January 30 at 7:30 am.
Please mark your calendars: School is closed for MLK Day on Monday, January 20.
Our Spring Event, sponsored by the Parents’ Club, is scheduled for Saturday, April 18 from 6-10 pm. We are excited to announce that we are returning to Grimmel Farms in Jarrettsville, MD this year. The first planning meeting for this event will be on Wednesday, January 15 at 6:00 pm in the upstairs Parish Hall. This event cannot run without the help of our fabulous parents, so please plan to attend and bring your fun ideas to the table!
As we begin this new year, I would like to send some reminders about playground usage before and after school. You are welcome to use the playground before and after school as long as you are closely supervising your children to ensure they are following the rules. Those rules are in place to keep the children safe and it is imperative that they are followed. However, after school, please leave the playground after 30 minutes or so to make way for the students in Enrichment and Extended Day. If you are picking your child up from Extended Day and there are Extended Day or Enrichment students on the playground, please do not stay and play. We need to make every effort to closely supervise our students still signed into care and having additional children on the playground can be confusing. Finally, PLEASE close and latch the playground gates when you come through to ensure that the area is secure at all times. Thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding.
Have a great weekend… here’s hoping it won’t rain too much! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to come see me in the office! And…. I guess… if I have to…. Go Ravens!!
