Dear TCDS Families,
TOMORROW is Conference Day, which means it is not a regular school day. There is no morning Extended Day from 8-9 and morning classes are canceled. Extended Day is open from 9-3. If your child needs care during that time, and you have not already signed up, please let me know ASAP so I can add them to the list. Your child is also welcome to stay just during your conference time at no charge; if you have not signed up, please let me know if you would like this service. Our teachers need to prepare for the day, so having a complete headcount ahead of time is very important. We all look forward to this opportunity to speak with parents about their wonderful children!
Our Open Houses went extremely well this week, bringing in many new families (and a few alumni) to see our program. Thank you to all of those who talked up our school and sent in friends and neighbors to check us out. Your support means the world to our school (and to me) and helps us to continue the wonderful work we do here each and every day.
Registration for Trinity Families is this coming Thursday, January 23 at 7:30 am in the upstairs parish hall. This registration is for current TCDS families, alumni, and church members. Our policy states that parents need to bring in their application and $50 registration fee in person in order for us to accept the registration. Another family member or caregiver can bring the paperwork as long as they are not a current parent to another student. We do not accept early applications; however, if you cannot be here on the 23rd, please come talk to us in the office. Registration for community members will be January 30 at 7:30 am.
As much as I DON’T want to think about our 4’s Angels moving on, I guess I have to tell you that the local schools are starting to plan their Kindergarten registration. As a parent of an incoming Kindergarten student, you will need to call your home school in order to get on their list and they will then send you the registration packet when the time gets closer. I have the dates and phone numbers of our 3 closest public schools below.
Carroll Manor: March 27
Jacksonville: April 30 & 31
Pine Grove: April 16 or 17
Who’s ready for BARN BASH?! This year’s spring event will take place on Saturday, April 18 from 6-10 pm at the Barn at Grimmel Farms! This is an adult-only event that allows us to let our hair down, cut loose, and raise some money for our school. Tickets will include a buffet dinner, drinks, dancing, games, and access to our famous silent auction! Tickets will be on sale soon, but please mark your calendars for this amazing event!
We will be looking for donations for the silent auction during the Barn Bash and we are asking families to let us know if there is anything that you may be willing to donate. We are looking for donations for experiences, rather than things, that our families would want to bid on. Have a beach house you’re willing to donate for a weekend? Work for a company that would be willing to donate services? Have a family friend who runs a local business that would be willing to donate a birthday party? Please let Kara Wasniak know at firstname.lastname@example.org. All donations are tax-deductible and all money earned will come directly back to our school. Please be on the lookout for a letter to go home in folders next week!
Calendar Reminder: We are closed Monday, January 20 for MLK Day. Also, your final payment for the 2019-2020 school year is due on February 1.
Tomorrow Night is MOVIE NIGHT at Trinity! We will be showing “Abominable” starting at 6:30 pm in the upstairs Parish Hall! Come comfy and bring a blanket to lay on! Snacks and drinks are provided for free by families of Trinity Church. Please remember that the close supervision of your child(ren) is required during the movie night. The doors will remain open to the movie room so all parents can keep eyes on their little one(s).
I hope you all have a great weekend and that the kids get a chance to play outside if we get some fun wintery weather! See you next week!
